Classic Carriers Wins Workplace Safety Awards

At Classic Carriers, safety isn’t just a priority – it’s a core value. That’s why we’re proud to announce that we’ve received two Workplace Safety Awards from Great West Casualty Company. Classic Carriers won a Silver Motor Carrier Safety Award and Platinum Workplace Safety Award.

The Workplace Safety Awards program recognizes companies for their dedication to creating and maintaining a safe work environment for their team members. Organizations are eligible to receive a Platinum, Gold or Silver award based on their year-end workplace incident rate.

Why Safety Matters in 3PL

As a third-party logistics company, we take safety seriously across every step of the supply chain.

Truck drivers face unique challenges on the road, from long hours to operating larger vehicles and driving in difficult weather conditions. A single accident involving a truck can have devastating consequences for other passenger vehicles. Protecting lives, livelihoods and our country’s transportation system requires truck drivers to stay focused and committed to safety best practices at all times.

“Once you get in that driver's seat,” says Classic Carriers Driver Coach Jorge Solano, “It’s game on.”

But safety doesn’t stop with our drivers. Adhering to strict safety standards and best practices in our warehouses and shop is critical, as much of our team works with heavy equipment. Whether we’re changing a tire on a semi or unloading a shipment for storage, maintaining our tools, having the knowledge to properly operate equipment, and being aware of our surroundings keeps people and products safe.

A Culture of Safety at Classic Carriers

For Classic Carriers Safety Director Rob Flores, implementing a culture of safety starts with mutual trust and respect between him and the team. He encourages drivers to talk to him about safety concerns and incidents without fear of reprisal. We also continue to invest in the latest in-cab technology to make trucking safer and easier for our drivers.

At the end of the day, we want every Classic Carriers team member to make it home safe to their families.

We’re thankful for Great West Casualty Company recognizing our efforts to foster a great work environment for all. Safety requires each of us to be accountable and look out for each other, and we’re grateful to have a team that does just that.
